Rehabilitation of Disaster Victims

After the temporary relief for disaster victims, it is quite important to plan for rehabilitation and long-term development of disaster-affected areas. IDRF places a special emphasis on rehabilitation of victims and supports ongoing rehabilitation projects in various disaster areas.

Focus

Keeping in tune with its concept of "Self-help rather than welfare dependence," IDRF focuses on funding projects that enable long-term economic development. IDRF supported projects reflect this vision and typically focus on leveraging indigenous methods and modern techniques to improve both living and economic conditions of the affected areas.

Typical Rehabilitation Projects

  • Construction of villages with all amenities (houses, community centers, parks and schools) in disaster areas

  • Provide means of employment that are applicable to disaster areas

  • Monetary support for running educational institutions, free instruction to children who became orphans

  • Orphanage homes for destitute children and women
