Having access to healthcare facilities is a basic expectation for any society. Various disease prevention methods can help reduce overall costs for healthcare. IDRF supports various projects that provide healthcare in rural areas, towns and cities to the people who cannot afford to go to for-profit healthcare establishments.
IDRF supported healthcare projects include the following:
- Mobile medical vans
- Hospitals in rural and tribal areas
- Medical research institutions focusing on specific diseases such as Cancer
- Ayurveda hospitals and research institutions
- Yoga theraphy institutions
Beneficiaries
Most IDRF supported healthcare projects provide free medical relief, health checkup and perform medical procedures such as eye surgeries to all patients irrespective of their caste, religion, gender or any other differences. Projects serving a disaster area will focus on preventing diseases, which means providing appropriate vaccinations to all the people who live in the disaster area. Many projects are run continuously for years by committed NGOs.
